Throwback Thursday Photo: Santa Blair

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Black Chronicle remembers Kenneth Blair, beloved to many as Santa Blair.  Coach Blair, who served as a football coach at Douglass, Northwest Classen, Northeast and Southeast high schools, toured the country appearing as Santa Blair.  For many, he was the first Black Santa Claus they had ever seen.  Blair passed away in March 2024 at age 65.  Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS) and Douglass High School STUCO students hosted the first Blair Holiday Festival, also known as BlairFest, on Friday, Dec. 12.  Around 100 students from Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary received a wrapped gift and participated in holiday crafts and activities.
