Regulators slashes Aqua Illinois’ rate increase

A state regulatory board has slashed Aqua Illinois’ rate increase.

The Illinois Commerce Commission cut down on Aqua Illinois’ request by 43%. Also part of the decision is any customer whose incomes who are at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level can get a 70% discount on the base volumetric charges starting in July.

The Citizens Utility Board called the decision a step in the right direction.

Hunters reminded to not use drones

As the first weekend of gun deer season gets underway this weekend, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources cautions hunters to be mindful of rules and best practices surrounding the use of technology in the field.

This includes the use of drones for recovering wildlife, artificial intelligence for reviewing hunting laws, and e-bikes to access hunting sites. The use of unmanned aircraft, or drones, for any aspect of hunting or recovery of wildlife is against the law in Illinois.

Survey shows first date preferences

A new survey shows a majority of Illinois men say it is acceptable to go on a first date to a fast food restaurant.

Datingnews.com asked 3,000 Illinois men and 54% said a fast food restaurant is OK for the first date, with Chick-Fil-A being the top choice.

The survey also showed that a majority of men were fine with asking their first date to split the check. Surprisingly, 66% of women said they would say yes if a man asked them out to somewhere like McDonald’s.
