(The Center Square) – Wisconsin’s average gas price is $2.85 for regular, below the $3.05 national average heading into the heavy Thanksgiving travel week.
The price is below last year’s average of $2.95, the $2.90 average from a month ago and is slightly up from the $2.83 average last week.
The state’s lowest average prices are in Waukesha ($2.78), Sauk ($2.74), Juneau ($2.73), Marathon ($2.80), La Crosse ($2.76), Trempealeau ($2.78), Buffalo ($2.70), Pepin ($2.61), Dunn ($2.69), Eau Claire ($2.67), Chippewa ($2.71) and Rusk ($2.74) counties.
The highest average prices are in Ozaukee ($2.94), Green ($2.98), Lafayette ($2.99), Grant ($2.96), Iowa ($2.92), Crawford ($2.96), Adams ($3.05), Marquette ($2.93), Green Lake ($2.97), Waushara ($2.96), Kewaunee ($2.93), Dorr ($2.97), Vilas ($2.95), Sawyer ($2.94) and Saint Croix ($2.92) counties.
The national gas price average dropped for a sixth straight week, according to GasBuddy head of Petroleum Analysis Patrick De Haan.
“The median U.S. #gasprice this morning is $2.89/gal according to GasBuddy data, with the five most commonly encountered gas prices: $2.99, $2.89, $2.79, $3.19 and $2.69,” De Haan wrote on social media.
