Dr. Dre Reaches Billionaire Status on Forbes List

(AURN News) — According to Forbes, Dr. Dre has officially reached billionaire status on the magazine’s 2026 Billionaires List, nearly a dozen years after he famously declared himself “hip-hop’s first billionaire.”

Dre made the claim in 2014 following the $3 billion sale of Beats by Dre — the headphone company he co-founded with Jimmy Iovine — to Apple.

Dr. Dre joins a small group of entertainers who have crossed the billionaire threshold, a club that includes Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Rihanna.

Of the 22 billionaire entertainers identified by Forbes, nearly half have reached that status within the past three years.

Dr. Dre becomes just the sixth musician to achieve billionaire status, reflecting the massive financial impact of music ventures, branding and technology partnerships.
