President Donald Trump confirmed Tuesday that the White House is reviewing the Smithsonian museums, criticizing their focus on slavery, according to ABC News.
On his social media platform, Trump wrote, “The Smithsonian is OUT OF CONTROL, where everything discussed is how horrible our Country is, how bad Slavery was… Nothing about Success, nothing about Brightness, nothing about the Future.”
He said he has instructed attorneys to begin a process similar to his administration’s actions against colleges and universities, vowing, “This Country cannot be WOKE, because WOKE IS BROKE.”
The review is expected to target eight museums, including the National Museum of African American History and Culture, which Trump praised in 2017 as “incredible” and “done with love.”
