Gallup Ends Presidential Approval Tracking After More Than 80 Years

(AURN News) — Gallup announced it will no longer track presidential approval ratings, marking a significant shift in public opinion polling after more than 80 years. The Hill first reported the decision.

The move “reflects an evolution in how Gallup focuses its public research and thought leadership,” Gallup said in a statement to The Hill.

The Hill asked whether Gallup received feedback from the Trump administration or the White House before making the change.

“This is a strategic shift solely based on Gallup’s research goals and priorities,” a spokesperson told The Hill.

Gallup has traditionally been considered the go-to source for presidential approval ratings. President Donald Trump, now in his second term, has recorded some of the lowest approval ratings of any president in Gallup’s modern tracking history.
