Trauma can span generations – even after adoption.

Research published in Development And Psychopathology has shown a connection between a birth mother’s suffering and her child’s behavioral issues. Even when adopted as newborns and never exposed to the biological mom’s traumatic experience, these kids often show more rule-breaking and aggressive behavior. The next question is how does stress manage to move through generations?

Should kids stop bringing lunch to school?

All schools with the national school lunch program are required to follow the healthy, hunger-free kids act nutritional guidelines. And guess what? These lunches are improving the students’ diets, according to a new study in the American Journal Of Preventive Medicine
. Kids from low-income households were more than ten percent healthier when eating school lunches rather than food from home.

Your eyes need protection from the coronavirus.

Researchers have discovered that the virus that causes COVID-19 can lead to vision impairment. A study in Plus Pathogens shows that the virus breaks through the blood-retinal barrier, triggering inflammation that can cause vision loss. The scientists advise that anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 see an ophthalmologist to check for any changes in the retina. Even people who are a-symptomatic could have damage.

And in order to stay on track, set short-term benchmarks within the larger goal to continually have positive measures of your progress. Fear can also make tasks feel threatening and lower our chances of accomplishing the goal. Instead, think of the task as a challenge – where success is measured by doing your best
