(AURN News) — This morning, the Trump administration delivered its first briefing on the U.S.-Israeli strikes against Iran.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said, “This is not a so-called regime change war, but the regime sure did change.”
Hegseth added, “We didn’t start this war, but under President Trump, we are finishing it.”
But when pressed on an exit strategy and specific details, Hegseth provided few answers.
When asked about current boots on the ground, he said, “No. But we are not gonna go into the exercise of what we will or will not do.”
When asked about President Donald Trump putting a four-week timeline on the war, he said, “It’s a typical NBC gotcha type question. President Trump has all the latitude in the world to talk about how long it may or may not take — four weeks, two weeks, six weeks. It could move up. It could move back.”
On Sunday, Trump warned in a video that more U.S. service members could die before the conflict ends.
