Target Boycott Ends for Jamal Bryant, but Not All Activists Agree

(AURN News) — According to Forbes, Pastor Jamal Bryant says the yearlong boycott of Target known as the “Target Fast” has officially ended after the company renewed commitments to Black-owned businesses, supplier diversity and historically Black colleges and universities.

Bryant, who helped lead the protest through New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, says Target also increased its commitment to Black-led community groups and businesses.

However, not everyone involved in the movement has ended their boycott.

Activist Tamika Mallory of Until Freedom and former Ohio state Sen. Nina Turner have not confirmed that they are returning to Target and have signaled they still want stronger accountability, including a public apology from the company’s leadership.

In addition, other racial justice groups say they will continue to pressure Target despite Bryant’s announcement.
