WATCH: Trump Administration signals focus on spending cuts

At a press briefing this week, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that President Trump supports both tax cuts and spending cuts, aligning with calls from congressional Republicans.

The comments come as the administration prepares to negotiate over budget reconciliation and looks to advance its economic agenda.

Leavitt noted that the new Treasury Secretary will play a key role in discussions with Congress but ensured that President Trump himself will be actively involved in the process. The statement suggests a hands-on approach from the White House as it navigates the oncoming fiscal policy debates.

“There’s no better negotiator than Donald Trump,” Leavitt said. “I’m sure he’ll be involved in this reconciliation process as it moves forward.”
