Nashville picked for Starbucks’ southeast corporate office

(The Center Square) – Nashville may soon be known for more than music, as a leading coffee company is locating its southeast corporate office there.

Seattle-based Starbucks made the announcement Tuesday along with Tennessee officials, with specific details to be announced at a later date.

“Looking ahead, Starbucks has great ambitions to grow even further across North America,” said Mike Grams, chief operating officer for Starbucks, in a release. “With these growth plans, we see Nashville, Tennessee, as an ideal location to open an office and establish a more strategic presence in the Southeast region of the U.S. The city offers a deep, talented and growing workforce, making it a desirable location for us.”

Tuesday’s announcement did not specify a location for the company or how many jobs would be created.

“Companies across the nation recognize that Tennessee’s strong values and fiscally-conservative approach are good for business, and we are proud to welcome another Fortune 500 company like Starbucks to our state,” Gov. Bill Lee said.

The Tennessee Valley Authority, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner, and Nashville government officials, along with others, worked to attract the coffee company to Nashville, according to the release.

“We’re excited that Nashville continues to attract businesses like Starbucks that recognize our quality of life, offer those jobs and allow Nashvillians to realize their goals for economic mobility,” said Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell.

The company closed about 500 North American stores in 2025 as part of a restructuring plan, CNBC reported.

Starbucks has 40,000 coffeehouses worldwide, according to the company.
