(The Center Square) – Another company is building a new regional manufacturing headquarters in Texas, this time New York-based Crystal Window and Door Systems TX, LTD, in Mansfield.
The national manufacturer of energy-efficient vinyl and aluminum windows and high-end fenestration systems announced it is constructing an advanced manufacturing facility and regional corporate headquarters in Mansfield, located in north Texas in Tarrant County.
It follows a long list of corporations moving, relocating and expanding operations and building new headquarters in Texas.
The project is expected to create 504 new jobs and include more than $121 million in capital investment. To do so, it received a Texas Enterprise Fund grant of $3,150,000 and a $15,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus funded by Texas taxpayers.
“’Made in Texas’ is a powerful global brand, and I congratulate Crystal Window and Door Systems on this significant investment in our great state,” Gov. Greg Abbott said. “When choosing where to locate or expand their businesses, more and more innovative industry leaders choose Texas. This new advanced manufacturing facility and regional headquarters will bring hundreds of good-paying jobs for hardworking Texans in Mansfield and millions in capital investment to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.”
State Sen. Brian Birdwell and state Rep. David Cook worked with the Mansfield City Council, the Mansfield Economic Development Corporation, and the Economic Development & Tourism office within the governor’s office to encourage Crystal Window and Door Systmes, Ltd. to choose the north Texas town to build its new regional headquarters.
“I started this company in 1990 with a small commercial operation in New York City, and with focus, determination, and a lot of hard work with dedicated employees, Crystal is now a national manufacturer with five major production facilities across the country,” Crystal Chairman and Founder Thomas Chen said. “Our products are used in some of the most notable buildings throughout the nation, and I am thrilled to bring our expertise to the great state of Texas.”
Current Crystal Window & Door Systems manufacturing facilities are located in Queens, New York, Chicago, St. Louis, and Riverside, California.
The company grew from a startup in 1990 to one of the top 25 window manufacturers in North America, according to its website. It, along with its subsidiaries and affiliates, operate more than one million feet of manufacturing space at five plants.
The announcement comes as Texas continues to lead in job growth and attracting new businesses and remains the “headquarters of headquarters,” with the most business headquarters in the state.
“Texas’s big cities continue to attract new moves thanks to a continual flow of companies choosing the Lone Star State, opening up an ever-increasing number of job opportunities,” according to a recent move Buddha report, The Center Square reported. The findings are consistent with other rankings listing Texas as the top state for attracting new business last year.
Texas also ranked first for having the best business climate last year; another survey identified six Texas counties as talent and economic powerhouses in the top 10 nationwide. It was also named the “Best State for Business” for a record-breaking 19 consecutive years in another.
